THINGS I COULDN'T BE LESS SURPRISED BY

1) A former top official of the Boy Scouts of America faces federal Internet child pornography charges and is expected to plead guilty Wednesday, a spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney's office said.

2) Two months after being elected by voters who braved terrorist bombs to make their voice heard, Iraq’s lawmakers failed to make any progress on forming a government yesterday at the second sitting of the new Iraqi parliament.

(I should qualify the first part of my post by mentioning that there are likely going to be no shortage of snarky things said about this Boy Scout leader, and it is not my intention to add to them. I merely think it fits the pattern of adults in positions of authority over children who abuse the access they have to them. If this man merely looked at images on a computer and never harmed any children directly, then he is in the same company as Pete Townsend and he deserves our pity more than our scorn, for he is ill, not malicious. All of this is to say that he may very well be, in all other aspects of his life, a good man, and if that is the case, then I hope for his and his family's sake that he is not destroyed entirely by this, though that is quite a plausible outcome. Also, I think Michael Jackson really did jack off all those kids, though that's just my opinion. YMMV.)

Also, Blogger is uber lame today. wtf?

I was convinced Michael was guilty once I read that he had a framed photo of Macaulay Culkin on a piece of furniture in his bathroom and a Culkin Home Alone doll in his closet next to a bottle of Jack Daniels. Case closed.
