It looks as though New Orleans will be saved. At least the French Quarter will be; the northern end of the city, just south of Lake Pontchartrain, will probably be a bit wet for quite some time. Who knows? It will probably be days before we know the true extent of the damage. Not quite as Biblical as people were warning, but scary nonetheless.
Sifting through the archives, it looks like I've written about New Orleans twice. Once, apocalyptically. Later, triumphantly.
